Library to host Paralympic athlete Cheryl Angelelli-Kornoelje with outdoor activities for kids

DEARBORN – Dearborn Public Library will host a Summer Reading wrap-up program “Anything is Possible: Para Athlete Series” at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 13 at 11:30 a.m. at the Henry Ford Centennial Library, 16301 Michigan Ave.

Para swimmer Cheryl Angelelli-Kornoelje will share her inspiring story of how she overcame a broken neck and became a Paralympic medalist. Afterward, a special playtime opportunity on the west side of the building will feature an obstacle course and lawn games provided by Special Olympics of Michigan, weather permitting.

Angeleilli-Kornoelje won Bronze and Silver medals in swimming events during the 2004 and 2008 Paralympics, was inducted into the Michigan Athletes with Disabilities Hall of Fame in 2000, and was named the Female Amateur Athlete of the Year by the state of Michigan in 2000 and 2003.
