HEIGHTS – The Community and Economic Development Department in partnership with HUD/Detroit Office and Wayne County Health Department will provide two free COVID-19 testing and vaccination events from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 15 and Nov. 5 at Berwyn Senior Recreation Center, 26155 Richardson St.
Vaccines will be available for ages 6 months and older. First and second vaccines, as well as all boosters will be offered.
The event is open to the public. And walk-ins are welcome.
Clients should bring their COVID-19 cards to be updated. If a client has lost their card, they should bring in a form of identification to get a new one made. While advance registration is not required, people may register their names and the status of their vaccination level to assist in estimating the number of doses for the event.
Translation assistance will be provided in Arabic and Spanish as needed for on-site assistance.
For assistance with other needs including disabled persons accessibility to the site or to register for the event, call 313-791-3490 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
To speed up the process — and shorten their wait time as much as possible — people are encouraged to complete their consent form in advance and take it with them to the event. Otherwise, blank forms will be available for completion on-site.
