DEARBORN – Dearborn Parks & Recreation Senior Services will be working with the AARP Foundation TaxAide to provide tax preparation services, free of charge to residents with low to moderate income.
AARP volunteers are ready to help with 2023 income tax returns from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday through Friday through April. This service is offered by appointment only and begins Feb. 7. Calls are currently being taken for appointments.
To receive help filing 2022 federal, state, and local tax returns, taxpayers must bring copies of all year-end tax forms, including W-2, 1099 interest and dividend statements, pensions, unemployment, Social Security, and any other miscellaneous income.
Other items to bring include:
• Photo identification
• Social Security numbers for each family member
• 2021 tax returns
• Bank routing and account numbers for direct deposit
• Receipts of health care costs; medical insurance premiums; and city, school, and county taxes
