Public Service Days begin March 6

DEARBORN – Public Service Days will be in effect for the 2023 season from March 6 to Dec. 16.

As in past years, the Public Service Day for each neighborhood will coincide with that neighborhood’s regular trash collection day.

On a Public Service Day, parking restrictions will be enforced between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. All residents are expected to remove their parked vehicles from the neighborhood streets during that time on their regular trash day to avoid a parking ticket.

Public Service Days allow the city to deliver curb-to-curb services, including street sweeping, tree trimming, and other services to every neighborhood in a convenient way.

In addition, Public Service Days make trash, recycling, and yard waste collection more efficient for city and contract workers, and allow for other services to be managed more efficiently, including road repairs and sewer and catch basin maintenance.

Parking restrictions are not enforced on holiday weeks when trash, recycling, and yard waste collection are delayed. See the city’s calendar online or in print for the official holidays when these services are delayed.

For questions about parking issues related to Public Service Days, or to request a parking exemption due to a hardship, call 313-943-2294.

More information is available in a video.
