ALLEN PARK – Newly promoted police officers Sgt. Zachary Waara and Lt. Adam Winger were honored at the July 22 City Council meeting, with family members present to pin on their new badges.
Winger, who joined the Police Department in 2016, has been on the Special Weapons and Tactics team since his second year, is a vital part of the training staff and is an arms instructor.
Police Chief Eron Feltz said Winger will be a future leader for the department.
Waara, who joined the Police Department department in 2016, was a field training officer and is currently an arms instructor.
Feltz said he is a vital part of the midnight shift since he joined the force.
“These are the future of our department,” he said. “We are going to be the strongest the department has ever been, from command on down to officers.”
