Dearborn City Beautiful Commission seeking nominations for attractive business properties by Aug. 19

August 8, 2025 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN — The City Beautiful Commission is seeking nominations for commercial properties in Dearborn for consideration in the 2025 Business Standard of Excellence Awards.

Recognition will be given through the awards program to business properties that are exceptionally well-maintained; have attractive facades and design elements on their building; include appealing landscaping, like flowers, plants, and trees; and exude overall curb appeal.

“We encourage residents and business owners to nominate commercial properties that reflect a high standard of design, landscaping and care,” Commission Chair Rene Ziaja said.

Nominations can be for any place that conducts business, including stores, restaurants, office buildings, medical buildings, manufacturing sites, repair shops, and banks, among other commercial properties. The award does not apply to residential properties.

Nominations must be emailed to [email protected] by 9 a.m. Aug. 19, and should include the name and address of the property. Up to two photos may be included in the nominating email.

Commissioners will judge all commercial properties throughout the city based on their curb appeal. This recognition is not for the economic impact, financial success, product quality, or customer service of the business. Honorees will be announced in the fall.
