Man nearly robbed going into work

July 17, 2009 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

TRENTON — Two men attempted to rob an employee of Trenton Warehouse Co., 608 Harrison, at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The employee pulled up to the locked gate of the business and got out of his car to unlock it. As he did so, a man approached him and demanded money.
The employee thought it was one of his co-workers joking with him, but when he turned around, he saw it was a stranger. Realizing it was not a joke, the employee asked the man, “Are you serious?” and then the man pushed him and they began to wrestle.
The employee said the man pushed him into the fence and he fell, but when he got back to his feet, the man ran east on Harrison.
He described his assailant as white, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall, thin and about 20 years old. He added that the perpetrator was accompanied by another man who only watched the incident.
That man is described at white, less than 5 feet tall and about 20 years old.
The employee’s T-shirt was torn and he suffered bruising to his wrist, neck, arms, head and knee.
