Parents, caregivers, children invited to safety seat checkup

October 3, 2009 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

TAYLOR — A child safety seat checkup will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in front of the former Taylor courthouse on Goddard Road, next door to the Police Station and City Hall.

The inspections will be offered by city police, the Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency and Safe Kids. The event is open to all parents and caregivers who are interested in having their child safety seats inspected by certified technicians.

“We will be assisting parents and caregivers with education on proper installation of child safety seats and updated child safety laws,” said Taylor police Cpl. Theodore Michowski. “We will be giving child-related safety information to children.”

In addition, children also will have a chance to see city police cars up close.

For more information call (734) 374-1390.
