New Saturday morning drawing program headed for Taylor

October 31, 2009 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

TAYLOR — A drop-in drawing program will be offered at the Taylor Recreation Center.

Sponsored by the Taylor Cultural Arts Commission, the program will meet from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays at the center, located at 22805 Goddard Road, just west of Pardee Road.

Five sessions will be available through the end of 2009: Nov. 7, 14 and 21 and Dec. 5 and 12. The program will continue through May 2010.

The program is open to adult artists of all levels of experience — residents and nonresidents. Beginners are welcome. The emphasis will be on drawing and painting people, costumed and portrait, in any medium. Professional models will be used.

The sessions will be run in a college-level, open-workshop format. There will not be regular instruction. However, help and advice from fellow artists will be available.

The fee will be $7 per session to cover model expenses.

For more information, call the Recreation Center at (734) 374-3901.
