Merlin needs some magic
Merlin is a 5-year-old black and white shorthair cat who was given up by his former owners. Volunteers say he is a lounge cat: very laid back and affectionate, but he doesn’t like to be held.

Zipper was left without a home when her family had to move to an apartment that didn’t welcome pets. The solid black shorthair may be part Persian.

Mushu is a 10-month old stray with a congenital eyelid defect: The muscles that would hold up the third eyelid allow it to droop. He has been evaluated by two veterinarians who say it has only a minor impact on his vision. He loves to play with other cats, and is very affectionate. He likes to be cuddled and will make a great house cat.

Cat adoption fees are $60 cash and include spaying or neutering, the first distemper vaccine, a combo test and a rabies vaccine if the animal is old enough. Cat adopters should bring a carrier. Cardboard box carriers can be purchased from the shelter for $5. The Wyandotte Animal Pound is at 1170 Grove, between 11th and 13th streets. Adoption hours are 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. For more information call (734) 324-4445 or go to www.petfinder.com/shelters/MI363.html.
