Mayor Jeffrey Lamarand and City Clerk Mary Ann Rilley along with representatives from Johnson Matthey Testing helped plant a Kwanzan Cherry Tree — commonly referred to as a Japanese flowering cherry tree — with the West Middle School Ecology Club and school officials. Johnson Mathey donated trees to both schools. Lamarand also donated a new American flag to the West Middle School, and members of the school band and Cardinal Singers performed.
