TAYLOR — Pins honoring the memory of police Cpl. Matthew Edwards and auxiliary police Lt. Dan Kromer are being sold to raise funds for the families of the late officers.

The shield pins are being sold at the Police Department for $5 each. The police station is at 23515 Goddard Road, in the Municipal Plaza, just east of City Hall.

Edwards and Kromer were killed in the line of duty in the summer of 2010. Their alleged assailants face murder charges and other counts.

Edwards was shot to death while investigating a reported burglary on July 23. Kromer was killed 45 days later while responding to a stranded motorist on the I-94 freeway.
