The Detroit Tigers Winter Caravan made its first 2011 stop Thursday at the Midtown Taylor Fire Station and participated in several activities in recognition of police Cpl. Matthew Edwards and auxiliary police Lt. Dan Kromer. The two were killed within weeks of each other last summer. Manager Jim Leyland, coaches Gene Lamont and Lloyd McClendon and players took questions from the crowd of several hundred who braved a rush-hour snowfall. Above, Cpl. Gerald Cole carries a framed jersey presented by the Tigers in honor Edwards that bears his badge number. Top, pitcher Justin Verlander smiles while answering a question. Below, caravan participants pose with members of the Taylor Fire Department.
