Drug Awareness Night set for March 20

March 17, 2012 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

TAYLOR — The Taylor Substance Abuse Task Force, in conjunction with the Downriver Guidance Center and SUDDS Coalition, are sponsoring a community drug awareness night.

The event, “Getting to Outcomes,” will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Ray Mix Room at Wayne County Community College District’s Downriver campus, 21000 Northline Road.

The task force is working to enforce a zero tolerance policy against drug purchasing, selling and consuming in the community. Interactive discussions will focus on the difference between marijuana and medical marijuana, prescription drug use and misuse, underage drinking, tobacco use and emerging trends.

The event is open to the public and will provide information to parents and families regarding drug use. Light refreshments will be served.

The task force is a coalition of people who are invested in the health, safety and success of the Taylor community.
