Some trash days to change

WYANDOTTE — Trash collection days here may change for some residents.

City councilors voted Monday to approve changing pickup days for some areas beginning March 18.

The change came with a move of trash hauler Waste Management’s yard waste collection days. City Engineer Mark Kowalewski said in a letter to the council that the new days would allow trash pickup to continue to be held on the same day as yard waste pickup.

New pickup days are Tuesdays for residents from the north side of Grove to the south side of Oak and from the east side of the railroad tracks to the river; Wednesdays for residents from the north side of Ford to the south side of Goddard and from the east side of 15th to the west side of 10th; and Thursdays for the north side of Oak to the south side of Ford and from the west side of 15th to the east side of Fort.

Collection days for residents of other areas will not change.

Letters were mailed out to affected residents last week explaining the change.
