The May 17 Dearborn Symphony Home Tour drew more than 500 people, many of them younger than previous tour goers. The home tour is the biggest fundraiser of the year staged by Friends of the Dearborn Symphony and provides support for educational opportunities for students and adults and support for the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra. One of the most popular on the Home Tour was the Jacobsen home at 865 S. Highland in the Dearborn Hills area east of Telegraph and south of Cherry Hill. Owned by Lee and Karen Jacobsen, it is an American colonial built in 1923. The first owners were the Ernest family until 1980. The Jacobsens restored the home in 2012 and added a new foundation.
