TAYLOR — Police are looking for two armed men who robbed an off-duty Detroit Police officer outside a Pelham Road bar early Thursday morning.

Two masked gunmen reportedly approached the car at about 3 a.m. where the 38-year-old officer and a 46-year-old Detroit city employee were sitting after the Trolley Stop Lounge, 8820 Pelham, had closed for the night. The gunmen threatened to shoot, took their cash and cell phones and ran from the parking lot.

The woman, a Detroit Police employee, ran to a nearby gas station to call police.

The officer’s weapon and badge were not taken by the robbers. Investigators towed the officer’s car for further forensic examination.

Taylor police chief Mary Sclabassi was not available for further comment prior to press time.

Police took note of suspect descriptions and are investigating. Taylor Police ask that anyone with information call 734-287-6611.
