DEARBORN — A Dearborn Animal Shelter adoption special because of a power outage at the facility since Tuesday ends at 5 p.m. today.

The cost for adopting adult cats (six months and older) is $5 and $10 for kittens (under six months). The cost for dogs (six months and older, and 20 pounds and up) is $50.

High, strong winds Monday knocked out power and Internet access yesterday at the shelter, 2661 Greenfield Road. Once power was restored today, shelter officials decided to continue the special through the end of the day.

“We didn’t have power yesterday and got it back today Foster Program Coordinator Kaleigh Borushko said. “We are still honoring the adoption special today.”

Adopters can view animals up for adoption at dearbornanimals.org and fill out their applications online.

For more information on adoption call the shelter at 313-943-2697 or go to the shelter.
