HEIGHTS — A video posted to Facebook of a Dearborn Heights police officer sleeping in his vehicle has gone viral, gaining 45,000 views in a week.
Dearborn resident Hesham Homayed shared the video on May 23 as he drove past the Dearborn Heights officer sleeping in his patrol vehicle.
Homayed can be heard saying, “Dearborn Heights police officer sleeping on the job,” during the video.
The patrol vehicle was parked at the intersection of Warren Avenue and Gulley Road.
Police Chief Lee Gavin said an internal investigation and review are taking place after the video was brought to his attention.
