TAYLOR — The Good to Great Neighborhood Improvement Program is moving into its fourth year of existence, and work plans to tentatively restart April 12.
Last year, G2G worked its way through most of the seven neighborhoods scheduled for improvements; however, that effort was not without its pandemic-related delays.
Beginning tentatively on April 12, G2G will focus on asphalt renovations and a key new pathway in the Taylor Parks Elementary School neighborhood (Area 16 of the program). This work was originally scheduled to be finished last year, before it was sidetracked by pandemic-related problems. Area 16 includes the neighborhoods between Allen/Pelham, Ecorse, Monroe and the Wabash Railroad line.
Al’s Asphalt will complete pavement replacement work on select asphalt roads in Area 16, along with the extension of a pathway in Jaycee Park (behind Taylor Parks Elementary School). That extension will connect the park to Lorne Street and points east of Jaycee Park – Huron, Mayfair, Weddell, Jackson and Pelham.
Letters are being mailed directly to homeowners affected by the construction. Access to the roads being worked on will be restricted for short periods of time. Curbside trash and recycling services will not be effected, but may occur as early as possible each morning. Residents should put their containers out before 7 a.m., and label them with their addresses, to avoid them being misplaced.
Mail delivery will not be effected.
