TRENTON — A resident filed a police report after he received a collection notice from a company called Superlative RM, stating he was in collection for a prism black Samsung Galaxy S10E. The phone was purchased Dec. 20 for $609.49.

According to the report, the credit card number used for the purchase did not belong to the resident, but the Social Security number, phone number and mailing address the collection agency had were all correct. The collection agency requested a police report for the resident’s claim.

The man said no money was taken from the bank account, and he was just concerned the purchase would affect his credit. The resident was provided with a case number along with a packet in reference to identify theft.
