TAYLOR — Wayne County soon will be repaving Ecorse Road, between the area just east of Monroe and the area just west of Pardee.
Ecorse is a county maintained road, and has been in need of improvements.
This stretch of the road serves Kroger and Taylortown Trade Center, two high-traffic areas. This project is targeted at approximately $1.3 million.
As county and city road projects converge, by the end of 2022, Pardee will be completely repaved, connecting to this newly paved Ecorse section, which in turn connects to Monroe Street, which was also repaved from Ecorse to approximately Trolley East Industrial Drive.
This county project joins the four-stage Inkster Road renovation under way between Ecorse and Van Born. That work will include new concrete (including the Inkster-Ecorse intersection); new traffic signals; drainage, signing, pavement markings; and complete restoration. This process will eventually include work on Ecorse Road between Birchdale Street in Romulus, and the westbound I-94 entry ramp in Taylor. That project is scheduled to be completed July 1, 2022, barring delays or inclement weather.
Wayne County also recently did signal modernizations and additions of left turn phasing at Ecorse and Pelham, and Van Born and Beech Daly. Those projects were delayed during last year’s pandemic.
