TAYLOR — The city’s general election ballot will look different in November following certification from the Wayne County Clerk’s Office.

Official results now have City Councilman Charley Johnson replacing Sam Ditzhazy who initially finished in the last of 14 spots for the general election ballot.

Johnson received 1,577 votes as a write-in candidate with Ditzhazy finishing with 1,483 votes.

The remaining 13 vote getters are Douglas Geiss with 3,468 votes, incumbent Angie Winton with 3,411, incumbent Herman “Butch” Ramik 2,940, Jill Brandana 2,718, Lindsey Rose 2,556, Amy Atwood 2,475, Justin Mordarski 2,307, Asha Tyson 2,256, Tina Daniels 2,246, Ira Slaven 2,215, Nick Dmitruchina 1,689, Chrissy Carmona 1,623, and Chris Verdun 1,536 votes.

Candidates Korey Morris and Martin Drouillard received 1,465 and 1,437 votes, respectively, which was not enough and eliminated them from the race.

Incumbents Daniel Bzura and Caroline Patts both ran as write-in candidates in the primary, but did not make the cut finishing with 372 and 695 votes, respectively.

Write-in candidates can appear on the Nov. 2 ballot by filling a write-in declaration of intent.

The mayoral election did not change, but the official results showed that Mayor Richard Sollars received 1,578 votes through his write-in campaign.

State Rep. Alex Garza (D-12th District) and Council Chairman Tim Woolley were the top two vote getters with 2,793 and 1,738, respectively. Jeff Jones finished in third with 1,713 votes and write-in Christie Clancy in last with 7 votes.
