TAYLOR – Police took a high school student into custody this morning after he allegedly threatened to shoot a security officer and was found carrying a handgun.

Police responded to Taylor High School on a threats complaint. A 15-year-old Inkster resident, who is a student of the high school, had threatened to shoot a school security officer.

Officers who responded to the scene found the student wearing a fanny pack around his waist. In the fanny pack was a loaded pistol that had its serial numbers filed off. The student was taken into custody without incident and is being held at the police station pending transportation to the Wayne county juvenile detention center.

No other students or staff were threatened or injured by the student.
