TAYLOR — Ashley Anne Taylor-Baker, 32, of Taylor was charged in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed Taylor resident Rodney Bidwell, 42, according to a Wayne County Prosector’s Office press release.

She faces one count each of failure to stop at a scene of an accident causing death, tampering with evidence and moving violation causing death.

Taylor-Baker was arraigned Sept. 21 in 20th District Court and a probable cause conference was scheduled for Sept. 28 before Judge Mark Plawecki.

Taylor-Baker, allegedly was driving west on Van Born Road in Dearborn Heights at a high rate of speed about 10:15 p.m. Sept. 15 before hitting Bidwell, who was on his motorcycle. Taylor-Baker then fled the scene, police said.

Taylor Fire Department first responders arrived at the scene and transported Bidwell to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation by the Dearborn Heights Police Department led to Taylor-Baker’s arrest Sept. 16, according to the press release.

Further details were not released.
