TAYLOR — The Fire Department will receive $500,000 for apparatus in a budget passed by the state House that includes investments in health care, child care and infrastructure.

The City Council unanimously approved the $500,000 appropriation at its latest meeting.

“I am pleased that my colleagues and I could come to a bipartisan agreement to finalize the budget and bring money back to our community,” state Rep. Alex Garza (D-Taylor) said. “The $500,000 will be a tremendous help to the brave first responders at the Taylor Fire Department.”
