TAYLOR —A black iPhone 7 was reported stolen Nov. 1 from Metro Detroit Phone Repair, 8700 Telegraph Road.
A man entered the store seeking service for another iPhone 7, and when he was told that they would be unable to service it, he asked about purchasing a replacement phone.
He was quoted a $159 price for a similar iPhone, which was handed to the man, who then handed the clerk $9 before fleeing the store with the phone.
The thief was described as a heavyset black male wearing baggy clothes, brown boots and torn jeans, who was driving an old white sport utility vehicle.
A store employee said a manager will be able to download surveillance camera footage of the theft and forward it to the police detective bureau.
