TRENTON — Mayor Steven Rzeppa won re-election in the Nov. 2 general election, beating out candidate Tom Kinney for a two-year partial mayoral term.

According to the unofficial results, Rzeppa received 3,258 votes and Kinney received 1,277 votes.

Rzeppa thanked his supporters following the election.

“All I can say is thank you, Trenton,” he wrote. “I’m still working through all the calls and emails and messages I’ve received in the past day or so, but just know how much I appreciate each and every one of you.

“We did this together, and our success will be Trenton’s success. It really is overwhelming to see voters say by such a wide margin that they love our community and the direction it is headed.”

Kinney also thanked his supporters.

“I just want to say thank you to all who supported and helped me through this election year, he said. “If you have a yard sign please just put it in your trash. Once again thank you. I also would like to say congratulations to all the winners.”

In the City Council race, Council members Richard Benedetti and Timber Baun-Crooks were re-elected receiving 2,348 and 2,239 votes, respectively. Newcomer Dora Rodriguez received 2,169 votes to earn one of the three four-year term spots.

Emily Hornbeck finished fourth with 1,986 votes, Councilman Scott Cabauatan fifth with 1,887 votes and Jason O’Dea finished sixth with 1,081votes.
