TAYLOR — An alarm alerted police officers to a smashed window and a failed break-in attempt at 1 a.m. Dec. 12 at the Tobacco Palace, 22515 Ecorse Road.
A large window, approximately eight feet above the sidewalk, was broken by a thrown chunk of concrete. The lower windows, which were reinforced with steel bars, were undisturbed.
An employee keyholder arrived and checked the inside of the store, and said nothing appeared to be missing and it did not appear that anyone gained entry. She said the store’s security cameras could not be checked because the business’ power was still out from the recent storm.
