MELVINDALE — A man was arrested for drunken driving shortly after midnight April 16 after he rear-ended a vehicle stopped at a light at Allen Road and Oakwood Boulevard.

The at-fault driver, who smelled strongly of alcohol, had glossy eyes and admitted to having been drinking.

A preliminary breath test was administered, and the man had a blood-alcohol content of 0.123, one-and-a-half times the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan. He was then taken to the Dearborn police station, where he was booked and held, and his vehicle was impounded and towed.

The vehicle that was struck was drivable, so after getting the driver’s information, they were released at the scene.
