RIVERVIEW — A 43-year-old Southgate driver was arrested at 12:14 a.m. April 22 for operating while under the influence of liquor.
The woman was drifting over the double yellow line and disregarded a red light, which resulted in a traffic stop. Her eyes were glossy and bloodshot, she slurred her words, smelled of intoxicants and admitted to drinking Bacardi rum.
She failed multiple standard field sobriety tests. A preliminary breath test was administered, and the woman had a blood-alcohol content of 0.172, more than twice the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.
She was arrested for operating while impaired and was taken into custody, while her vehicle, which had a flat tire, was impounded and towed.
