DEARBORN – The southbound Southfield Freeway, M-39, will be closed from 10 p.m. June 24 to 5 a.m. June 27, from 8 Mile Road to Michigan Avenue, for a variety of work.
The Michigan Department of Transportation announced Thursday that all of the southbound lanes, as well as on and off ramps, will be closed while crews collect a large number of soil and pavement borings required for a 2025-26 M-39 rebuilding project.
In addition, maintenance crews will be cleaning and repairing drainage structures.
The total closure helps to ensure worker safety. Telegraph Road is the recommended alternative, but note that Telegraph is experiencing construction south of Michigan Avenue.
