ALLEN PARK — An ice cream cake was stolen the afternoon of May 21 from a display case freezer at Cold Stone Creamery, 23009 Outer Drive.
The store owner said a man walked into the store about 4 p.m., removed the cake from the display case, walked out with it without rendering payment and put the cake in his car.
He said he followed the man and asked him to go back inside the store to pay for the merchandise. The man reportedly agreed, but then drove off instead.
The store owner took a photo of the license plate of the vehicle, a 2004 white Ford. He said the man was white, older, and had a tattoo of a block letter “N” in black ink on his inner right forearm.
