ALLEN PARK — Multiple victims filed complaints July 21 with the Allen Park Police Department after an Allen Park-based person collected deposits for a camper rental for a recreational vehicle they did not own and had no intention of renting.
The rentals were offered on Facebook Marketplace, to fraudulently secure deposits from renters. The con artists also used other people’s addresses as a way to shield themselves from people trying to claim their rental.
