RIVERVIEW — A 25-year-old Dearborn Heights woman who prompted a traffic stop for her speeding on Pennsylvania Road about 3:30 a.m. Oct. 12 was subsequently arrested for operating while intoxicated.

The woman said the car she was driving belonged to her ex-husband, and she did not have the registration of proof of insurance.

The driver had red, glossy eyes and smelled of intoxicants, and failed multiple standardized field sobriety tests.

A preliminary breath test was administered, and the woman had a blood-alcohol content of 0.137, higher than the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.

Open bottles of rum and whiskey were found in the vehicle, which was impounded and towed, while the driver was taken to the police department, where she was booked and held.
