DEARBORN — A Dearborn man was cited for reckless driving the night of Dec. 20 after a police officer saw him driving north on Chase Road at a high rate of speed, which was measured as 58 mph in a 25-mph zone.

The driver, who was in a silver 2010 Lincoln MKZ, stopped for a traffic light on Chase Road at Warren Avenue, then, when the light turned green, he turned east onto Warren Avenue while accelerating, squealing the vehicle’s tires.

A traffic stop was conducted at Warren Avenue and Kendal Street, during which the police officer could smell the odor of burning rubber from the tires.

The driver, who said he was picking up his mother from work, was cited for reckless driving and released at the scene.
