MELVINDALE — A Chevrolet Impala struck a semi-truck the afternoon of Jan. 14, near Schaefer Road and Hess Street, when the driver of the car had an apparent seizure.

A good Samaritan was on the scene helping the driver when first responders arrived at the scene. The man was subsequently taken to Corewell Health Hospital, Dearborn. The driver and passenger in the semi were not injured, and the passenger in the car said her legs were sore, but she did not seek medical treatment from first responders.

The Impala, which was under the semi-trailer, was towed. The semi was carrying a new Dodge Ram pickup, which had minor scratches on its rear bumper from the collision.
