RIVERVIEW — A 32-year-old Detroit woman who was rushing to get to a nursing class the morning of Feb. 3 struck the vehicle in front of her when the driver stopped at a red light on southbound Fort Street at Sibley Road.
The at-fault driver, who pulled over into the Hungry Howie’s lot at 19182 Fort St. with the other driver, made contact with the victim before walking off to her nursing class so she would not be tardy.
The responding police officer ran the at-fault driver’s license plate and discovered that her driver’s license was suspended and she had several active arrest warrants. The police officer located her at the Detroit Business Institute – Downriver, 19100 Fort St., and was able to verify that her vehicle was registered and insured.
The woman was cited for driving with a suspended license and for failure to stop within an assured clear distance. She was told to contact 27th District Court for an appearance date, and was advised on her outstanding warrants.
