LINCOLN PARK — A 63-year-old woman reported March 14 that she resisted a con artist’s attempt to gain her bank account and routing numbers through his offer to provide a more affordable life insurance policy.

She said the man, a young white male with dark hair, driving a silver car, arrived at her house that afternoon with a reward check, and tried to convince her to provide her banking information. When she refused to do so, he left the address.

She was advised to avoid all contact with the man and to monitor her credit reports.
