MELVINDALE — A 29-year-old Dearborn man who was speeding, talking on his cell phone and failing to signal lane changes while speeding on I-75 the morning of Oct. 8 was cited for driving with a suspended license, having no vehicle insurance and having an expired license plate.
The vehicle registration expired in August 2021, and he had 11 outstanding warrants: six from Detroit, two from Lincoln Park, two from Melvindale and one from Dearborn.
The driver’s cellphone was open to a snapchat video, which showed the vehicle’s dashboard and documented his illegal rate of speed.
His vehicle, a white 2020 Jeep Compass, was impounded and towed. The driver was given a courtesy ride to a nearby gas station, where he was picked up by his fiancée.
