MELVINDALE — A 51-year-old woman was injured when her red 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee crashed into a tree about 3:30 a.m. Oct. 1 near Outer Drive and Gale Boulevard.
Smoke was seen emanating from the front of the heavily damaged vehicle and the airbag was deployed.
The driver, who indicated that she was experiencing neck and leg pain, did not exhibit any obvious signs of intoxication. She was transported to Corewell Health Hospital in Dearborn.
After the vehicle was towed from the scene, accident debris was cleared and an oil spill contained.
