ALLEN PARK — A man who rear-ended a transit van March 30 in the Ford Motor Co. Roush parking lot, 16640 Southfield Road, which injured a person exiting the van, was fired after leaving the scene.

The at-fault driver, who hit the rear of a transit van, fled in a black BMW. A woman who was exiting the van at the time of the crash was taken to Corewell Health Hospital in Dearborn for treatment of a leg injury.

The driver who left the scene called Allen Park police the next day, claiming that the van side-swiped his vehicle, and said he was told by a Rousch manager that it was OK for him to leave to pick up his minor child, but the actual damage to the van and eyewitness accounts disputed his version of events.

The man, a Rouch employee, was terminated March 31, and he was cited for leaving the scene of an accident.
