HEIGHTS — A man who threw a garbage bag full of foul-smelling trash into an outdoor waste trash bin July 14 at Walgreens, 5709 Telegraph Road, was cited for illegal dumping.

A store employee who was outside smoking saw a man drive up in a white Chevy Equinox and pull a trash bag from the back of the vehicle, which he then carried toward the store’s outdoor rubbish receptacle. When the employee tried to deter him, the man ignored him a threw the noxious bag into the waste bin.

The employee reported the incident and the vehicle’s license plate number to a responding police officer, who went to the man’s house to follow up. The man said he only threw out a fast-food bag, and that he used the store’s outdoor bin because he didn’t want to litter. A citation was subsequently mailed to his address of record.
