ALLEN PARK — A repeat shoplifter was banned from Target, 3100 Fairlane Drive, on July 20 after she surrendered stolen items that she had attempted to hide in a stroller that also contained her small child.

The woman, who was in the store with one child in a stroller and another on foot, was stopped at the door by loss prevention personnel, and she surrendered some items at that time. Shortly afterward, when she was approached by police officers on a sidewalk in front of another nearby store, she handed over two swim suits that she said she “forgot” were in the stroller.

When she was told that there was surveillance camera footage that revealed her shoplifting, she admitted that it had been a rough year for her, and confessed to shoplifting in the past.

The woman was cited for retail fraud and advised that she was banned from the store.
