SOUTHGATE — Police officers joined firefighters the evening of Aug. 19 to investigate a suspicious fire in the former Aquinas High School baseball field dugout.
A homeless man who sometimes stays in the dugout said he was not around when the fire occurred and is unaware of anyone else who shelters there.
A metal bench was damaged by the fire, but nothing else appeared to be affected.
