ALLEN PARK — A man was arrested Sept. 11 after he scanned a cartful of items at Meijer, 3565 Fairlane Drive, then exited the store without rendering payment.

The items, collectively valued at $806, were taken by a man wearing a gray shirt and black pants, who was apprehended by police officers as he pushed a cartful of merchandise through the store parking lot.

A loss prevention employee verified him as the shoplifter. His actions were also recorded on surveillance camera footage.

He was cited for retail fraud and taken to the Allen Park police station for booking.
