LINCOLN PARK — A 21-year-old woman said she was defrauded on June 16 by a seller on Facebook Marketplace when she tried to buy two boxes of chocolate covered strawberries as a Father’s Day gift.

She said she paid through a CashApp account, but when she went to pick up the merchandise, she discovered that the house was abandoned.

She said she texted the seller, who gave her a different address. However, shortly after she arrived at the new address, she discovered that she was blocked by the seller, who also deleted their social media account.
