RIVERVIEW — A Lincoln Park man was arrested for drunken driving and for refusing to take a preliminary breath test about 2 a.m. Oct. 20 on Fort Street near Williamsburg Drive, following a traffic stop for speeding.

The driver smelled of intoxicants, and his eyes were watery and bloodshot. He also had difficulty manipulating his wallet to remove his driver’s license.

He was unable to recite the alphabet, failed several other standardized field sobriety tests, and refused to submit to a preliminary breath test.

He was handcuffed and taken into custody, and he consented to a blood draw at a nearby hospital.

His vehicle was impounded and towed.

The other people in the vehicle were picked up by a relative of one of the passengers.
