ALLEN PARK – City Council Mayor Pro-Tem Nancy Knick announced at the Nov. 12 council meeting that she was denied help from a bystander when injured because of her political preferences.
During council member comments during the end of the meeting, Knick said she was injured over the weekend, and did not get a chance to thank the four women who stopped to help her, three of whom were from Allen Park and one of whom was from Royal Oak.
“I appreciated they stopped,” she said. “There was a gentleman who stopped, but he refused because he asked who I voted for, for president.”
Knick said there was a fight and she was laying on the ground, but she is OK, just extremely sore and moving very slowly.
“Unfortunately, everything happened so quick, I did not get to be able to thank those people from Allen Park, and those four ladies who stopped, so I’m hoping that they see this, and, again, thank you very much,” she said.
