ALLEN PARK — A man abandoned his attempt to steal a blue 2021 Dodge Challenger on Feb. 3 in the 10000 block of Allen Pointe Drive after the owner heard the car alarm activate and the sound of the car motor starting up, which prompted the vehicle owner to run outside and yell at the would-be thief.

The suspect exited the Challenger and ran toward a black Chrysler 300, which left without him when he slipped and fell. The suspect then escaped the location on foot.

A passenger window of the Challenger was broken to gain entry, and interior wiring was damaged in an attempt to hot-wire the vehicle.
